Little Wild Things - Mosey Handmade

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a sucker for all things Where the Wild Things Are.  So, of course, when Jes of Mosey Handmade asked me to do a shoot based around her wild things crowns I was fairly excited. But, to be completely honest I had a hard time getting this shoot together the way I had originally envisioned. That was until this location and these three perfect little girls happened to all cross paths one day. It was exactly what I had been waiting for to bring these crowns to life.

I absolutely love playing around with new photography techniques and remembered I had read about using fairy lights to create bokeh in photos. What better shoot to use magical fairy lights for than this one?! For anyone wondering how to get this effect all you have to do is take some battery powered fairy lights and hold them right in front of your lens while you shoot. Just make sure your aperture is nice and low to get ideal results.

Anyways, back to these amazing crowns and outfits. Halloween is right around the corner and we all know what that means… COSTUMES FOR DAYS. I am a huge supporter of handmade shops and would love to encourage you to think outside the “norm” of Halloween and create a costume using pieces from small shops! Supporting the handmade community means supporting mamas just like yourself!  Max(Wild Things) outfits like these would be perfect! I’ll link you to all the shops involved down below. Stay tuned over the next couple weeks and I’ll be sharing a few more Halloween costume ideas inspired by small shops; you won’t want to miss it! If you have any fun costume ideas be sure to share them, I would love to hear!
